Commercially prepared Southdown top, hand dyed by me using high quality acid dyes in a lavender colourway. Southdown is a down-type wool, with a lot of spring and bounce. It's great for spinning into sock yarn, and also works well for sweaters and cardigans. I would personally use it for colourwork over cables or lace. This is one of my favourite fibres to spin, partly because it keeps its spring and loft even when spun using a short forward draw!
